Bowker's Book Analysis System™

Finally -- a collection development tool that enables a qualitative analysis of your holdings without laborious, manual comparisons.

Bowker's Book Analysis System electronically compares your collection to the H.W. Wilson Standard Catalogs or Resources for College Libraries and provides you with reports that you can use to identify gaps and duplicates within your collection.

Spend more time focusing on selection decisions and create a custom core collection with confidence. Maintain your collection on an ongoing basis so you can provide the most current and appropriate titles to your library patrons.

Using four matching methods (ISBN, LCCN & Title & Author, Title & Author, or LCCN & Title), the comparison between your collection and the core list you choose allows you to instantly recognize by subject area where the strengths and weaknesses lie in your collection. Depending on the core list selected, reports are grouped either Dewey Decimal classification, LC classification or RCL taxonomy.
